  9.           pbmtopgm - convert portable bitmap to portable graymap by
  10.           averaging areas

  12.      SYNOPSIS
  13.           pbmtopgm <width> <height> [pbmfile]
  14.  
  15.      DESCRIPTION
  16.           Reads a portable bitmap as input. Outputs a portable graymap
  17.           created by averaging the number of pixels within a sample
  18.           area of width by height around each point. Pbmtopgm is
  19.           similar to a special case of ppmconvol. A ppmsmooth step may
  20.           be needed after pbmtopgm.
  21.  
  22.           Pbmtopgm has the effect of anti-aliasing bitmaps which
  23.           contain distinct line features.
